Glen Ridge Council Meets: Approval of Minutes and Plans for Public Safety

At the recent mayor and council meeting of Glen Ridge, NJ, several substantive decisions were made regarding public safety and finances. The Mayor and Council President, LoriJeane Moody, opened with a roll call to ensure all councilors were present. Despite a few members being absent, including Councilor Lefkovits, the meeting proceeded smoothly.

The first order of business was adopting the minutes from their previous meeting held on June 6th, 2026. A motion by Councilor Lewis and seconded by Councilor Turiano passed with unanimous approval. No further discussion ensued as all councilors seemed content with the previously adopted minutes.

Next, several financial decisions were made. Councilor DeLine reported progress in bringing Glen Ridge up to date, with plans for an announcement regarding upcoming improvements. He also presented Resolution 107-26 approving and warranting $228,898 for PSEG and garbage collection vendors. The resolution was approved unanimously by all councilors.

Councilor Zimet then highlighted some recent public safety activities, including the cleanup of potholes during a logger run, addressing a sinkhole on an Astro placin', and participating in field graduation and sanitary sewer backup work. Regarding cobblestone gutters, Councilor Cowan addressed a potential volunteer event planned for July 11th to clean weeds and debris.

The meeting concluded with Mayor Deborah Mans adjourning the meeting at 10:20 AM as there were no new or unfinished business items.
