Planning Board Reorganizes for 2024, Discusses Electronic Filing and Affordable Housing Outlook

Glen Ridge's Planning Board held its annual reorganization meeting on January 17, 2024, reappointing Mr. Mehrotra as Chair and elevating Mr. Hegarty to Vice Chair. The Board confirmed its committee and staff appointments, unanimously adopted its by-laws, and set its regular meeting schedule for the year ahead, running from February 21, 2024 through January 15, 2025.

With no members of the public in attendance to comment, the Board turned to a discussion of requiring electronic document submissions for future applications. Secretary Erik DeLine updated members on anticipated legislation for the 4th Round of the state's affordable housing obligations, and Mayor Mans discussed the status of short-term rentals and a broader interest in diversifying the borough's housing stock. The Board adopted its December 20, 2023 minutes before adjourning.
