Board of Adjustment Halts Driveway Apron Hearing for 2 Washington Place Over Unclear Notice
Listen
Glen Ridge's Board of Adjustment on November 12, 2020 took up an application from Oliver and Laurie Sanders of 2 Washington Place, who were seeking to widen their driveway apron from its existing 12 feet to 21 feet -- the maximum width permitted. Board members ran into disagreement over exactly what the application covered, debating whether they were being asked to approve the width of the driveway itself or of the apron, and raised concerns that the public hearing notice had not clearly stated what relief the Sanders were seeking.
No one from the public commented. Rather than vote on the application as noticed, the board voted unanimously to adjourn the hearing and require the Sanders to amend their application and re-notice it for a future public hearing. The board also adopted its October 8, 2020 minutes, with member Velechko abstaining, and a resolution of approval for a separate, earlier matter at 20 Hillcrest Road.
