At its Adjourned Session on January 6, 2025, the Glen Ridge Mayor and Council opened by recognizing outgoing Councilor Ann Marie Morrow for her service to the borough, formally proclaiming their appreciation. The Council also passed unanimous resolutions thanking five other departing volunteers -- Steve Zimet, Deanna Pagano, Megan Giulianelli, Gouri Sadhwani, and Yerina Mugica -- for their work on various borough boards and committees.
In other business, the Council unanimously approved a resolution shifting $12,500 within the 2024 municipal budget. The move takes $4,000 from Recreation Salary & Wage, $4,500 from Hurrell Field Salary & Wage, and $4,000 from Planning Board Other Expenses, redirecting all of it into Recreation Other Expenses to close out the year's books.
The Council also approved two raffle license applications tied to local schools: an on-premise merchandise raffle run by the Gregory School Home & School Association, and an on-premise 50/50 raffle run by the Glen Ridge High School Home & School Association. Both events are scheduled for February 21, 2025.
