Glen Ridge Mayor & Council Meeting Approves Several Resolutions and Ordinances
At the recent meeting of the Mayor and Council of Glen Ridge, several important resolutions and ordinances were discussed and voted upon. The agenda began with a roll call followed by the adoption of the minutes from the previous meeting (May 26, 2026).
The Council then moved to discuss two financial resolutions, including one that authorized drawing warrants for insurance costs totaling $686,921 from the current fund. A similar resolution approving tax bill issuance for the third quarter of 2026 was also approved.
Councilor Theodore (Lewoz) proposed an ordinance setting titles and maximum annual salaries for non-union employees in line with a final budget estimate. The mayor adopted this ordinance, ensuring adjustments would be made to crossing guard positions, which could make it easier to hire more guards.
The meeting then transitioned into public safety matters, including Councilor Law's approval of renewing the retail license for Ridge Bottle King and Glenridge Pharmacy & Liquors. Finally, Councilor Triano presented a resolution allowing Glen Ridge to participate in the Huntington County Educational Services Commission’s cooperative pricing system, aiming to save money on various purchases.
Councilor Meyer highlighted another important matter: the authorization to purchase a Ford 4250 truck for public works purposes. The final item of the meeting was about approving an election report, which included commendations for Mayor Deborah Mans’ clerk and Chief John Malyska’s police department support during elections.
In summary, the Glen Ridge Mayor & Council successfully addressed several critical areas including financial management, public safety, cooperative agreements, and administrative reports through their decisions and resolutions.
