Commission Denies Two As-Built Applications From Same Owner, Clears Demolition of Four Baldwin Street Houses
Listen
The commission unanimously denied two separate applications from owner Eric Baker seeking after-the-fact approval for construction at 250 Washington Street and 254 Washington Street that didn't match what had previously been approved; in both cases, commissioners said the submitted plans simply didn't reflect what had actually been built.
Commissioners also approved Glen Ridge ReDevelopers' request to demolish four of the five houses it has purchased on Baldwin Street ahead of its planned 98-unit building, on condition that the company maintain the lots' lawns and existing trees, grade and level the demolished sites, and install black chain-link fencing around the property for visibility.
In other unanimous approvals, Verizon Wireless received the go-ahead to install a network antenna node on the roof of the Glen Ridge Country Club's pool house at 555 Ridgewood Avenue, after a subcommittee visited the site to review mock-up photos of the placement (Chair Herrigel stepped aside for that vote). Jaime Silberman also won approval for a kitchen renovation and rear deck addition at 26 Snowden Place, and Guy and Tami Kinley received approval to restore a leaded-glass window at 353 Ridgewood Avenue.
