Board Formalizes 2018 Variance Approvals; Memorializing Resolution Misnames Applicants
Listen
Glen Ridge's Board of Adjustment held its January 10, 2019 organizational meeting, unanimously reelecting Hugh Mahoney as Chair and James Ashenfelter as Vice Chair and reappointing Michael Rohal as Board Engineer, Michael Zichelli as Planner and Secretary, and Alan Trembulak, Esq. as Board Attorney. The board adopted its 2019 by-laws and set its meeting schedule for the year, running from February 21, 2019 through January 9, 2020, and adopted its July 12, 2018 minutes, with members Bergmanson, Johnson, and Seeman abstaining.
The board then adopted memorializing resolutions for the two variances granted at its July meeting, with the same three members abstaining on each: one for Frank Juliano's driveway-apron exception at 37 Madison Street, which matched the case as heard, and one covering Polly and Marc Murphy's rear addition and mudroom at 20 Hillcrest Road. Notably, while that second resolution's factual findings largely track the Murphy hearing, its final resolving clause instead approves the application "of Jonathan Fellus & Ruth Borgenicht" -- names that appear nowhere else in the case record -- an apparent copy-paste error in the borough's own minutes rather than a separate matter. No members of the public commented.
