Council Closes Out 2020 With Sewer Project Change Order, New Police SUV
Listen
With the full council present, members approved a $25,273.70 change order for additional lining and rehabilitation work on the borough's sanitary sewer project, bringing the total contract with National Water Main Cleaning Company to $697,671.20 (a summary table elsewhere in the resolution lists the change order at $25,273.00, a minor discrepancy in the borough's own paperwork rather than an error in this reporting).
The council also authorized the $71,101 purchase of a new 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility Vehicle from Cherry Hill Winner Ford through a state cooperative purchasing contract, and canceled $215,000 in unused current-fund appropriations, $155,000 in swimming pool utility appropriations, and $100,000 in water utility appropriations back to fund balance as part of year-end budget cleanup.
Members adopted a revised Employee Handbook, dated December 22, 2020, governing personnel policy for borough officials, employees, volunteers, and contractors, and authorized a roughly $40,000 Community Development Block Grant application for ADA-compliant street ramps following the second and final public hearing on the program. Chief Byron-Lagattuta thanked Recreation Director Jim Cowan for coordinating snow removal for senior citizens after the borough's most recent storm, and Councilor Lisovicz thanked residents who took part in the Santa parade. Every vote of the meeting was unanimous, with no council members absent.
